It’s Memorial Day Weekend and I know you sweet boys and girls are not likely to read a lengthy email as you’re dying to head out of an office or wrapping up work.

So let’s take a quick jaunt through the world of Probly, where it’s been raining home run bets this week, including 4 HR picks in content hitting in the last four days. I even hit on a WNBA bonus bet DK gave me yesterday so how could things be better?

The Rest Of The Sports World

Another Friday MLB slate after a solid week of bets, including a nice home run week with 4 HRs in four days, including a +1000 Tomas Nido on Monday and TWO on Tuesday. We even survived a Paul Skenes under on strikeouts yesterday, which is possibly the scariest bet in baseball right now.

But market data remains the most powerful tool in betting, especially for stars and buzzy rookies like Skenes. So let’s get more with the Top 10 (aka my usual 15ish including long shot bets) MLB bets from today’s video:

As always, I try to find a few bonus email exclusive ones too, so here they are for the next few days of the NBA Conference Finals. I’d also REALLY encourage you to check out WNBA betting on Probly. I only placed five WNBA bets this week and went 5-0 with them. There are less markets but a more pronounced advantage against the house.

Probly Product Updates

^Here’s our video tutorial on optimal settings. Read our previous post on optimal settings before you dive in to betting with Probly’s data.

Updatewise, we’re making one update that won’t affect many of you but does reflect a commitment to focusing in on what actually matters for Probly. Specifically that means removing the “comment” and “vote” options that have previously been on the app on our Markets page.

We believe our strength lies as a data platform so, rather than have some half-assed community features that we’re not really promoting or using, we’re going to take them out to focus on the items that do matter. You’ll be able to share bets off platform, save them, and we’ll find new, more useful buttons to add where applicable, when applicable.

Overall, anything that diverts people from our core functionalities isn’t really serving the greater good. When we add in new buttons or things in the future, they’ll be more aligned with what Probly’s current key use is: Price-shopping and sourcing best bets.

Otherwise, nothing too exciting to report this week. I caught up with one of our advisors, a guy who worked with me on Barstool’s tech before becoming a multitime entrepreneur. He’s now running one of the largest Latin American sportsbooks and it was a very good convo to catch up, vent, and also get some proofing on what we want our next iteration of Probly development to be centered around. There’s exciting things we have planned that would be true “firsts” in the industry we’d like to bring to life by football season.

Besides that, I’m preparing for another few presentations in June — reworking our normal pitch deck into one more narratively focused, since that’s been a flaw in previous Demo Day-style presentations I’ve done — as well as hearing back on our YCombinator application next week. I don’t expect us to get in given how competitive that is but we’ve heard positive feedback on our application from a few YC alums so we shall see. The key takeaway? The amount of time as a founder you spend on things like revising decks and submitting applications should never been undershot.

farewell for now
