Now that we’ve gotten the sportsbook filtering out (and seemingly very functional for you guys), the main Probly product product is likely going to hold steady for a bit besides some tweaks we make on the backend in the hopes of optimizing further and decreasing database costs.

We’re also researching some very big new features that we plan to work on eminently once our CTO Edgar finishes some database scripting items and updates to our underlying programming language that need to be done.

Because of industry competition — as well as our current fundraising efforts — what we’re working on next is one product focal point we’ll keep under our hat. Basically, we have three REALLY big lift product features we want to build out that we think can be gamechangers for us that we have under our hat. To tease: It’s a lot built around making it even faster and more efficient to transact +EV bets and bets you want and making it all more social at the same time. I think you guys (and people out there) would be stoked at both.

Re: our fundraising efforts, we unfortunately hit an impasse with one local Philly group we were talking to so that option isn’t happening while we continue to kick the tires on a few others. It’s disappointing because it would be nice to get support locally here, at the very least to balance out my own aversion to uprooting to this area, and also since we’re just ready to take the next step forward of resources, execution, and some stability.

On the other hand, I really do feel like every month that moves forward we think our position grows stronger. April was our highest grossing month yet by a big margin, over 190% month over month from our first month (and up over 140% from March), we cleared 500 App Store downloads, and we just passed a pretty big milestone with email signups here too. So if someone doesn’t come along for the ride — or if they don’t get the product or the industry — I don’t really view that as a loss to not have to manage that in perpeuity.

When you chase investors, especially before your company is making tons of monthly revenue, a lot of it feels like trying to drag them kicking and screaming into believing in you and the results you have so far. But I really want to work with people that want to go out of their way to work with us. And I think we’re going to find luck on that front soon. The time suck of having to keep the pipeline going while working with people isn’t ideal but it’s just what has to be done until we find a fit that excites us and someone else equally.

So we keep pushing here. No matter what, we’ll keep executing on the product and thinking about ways to solve for problems in sports betting you might not even know you have. We feel like our position grows stronger and the longer that the world forces us to bootstrap. Similarly, the longer it drags out, the more resourceful and customer happiness/conversion-focused we’ll be in the interim, which will likely position us better long term anyway.
